I just dropped Sinco and Myra off at the airport. I can not believe my wonderful little red dog. Anyone who has only seen her do agility would never believe how calm and "professional" she is as a service dog. Myra called me from the gate and said she acts like she has been a service dog her whole life. Myra and I have been telling Sinco about this trip for a while now and it really seems as if she understands the importance of the trip and the importance of her to be well behaved for Myra.
It really reaffirms what an awesome temperament she has for all of this and reaffirms my decision to breed her. While I know the reality is I won't get that exact package again but this is the best I can do to try to continue on the wonderful traits she possesses.
Myra and I were also talking about how we really never expected her to have such a versatile temperament when she was a puppy. We saw much more of the persistent, wild and crazy side of her then and thought she was a handful. And she was a fun and wild pup for a good year and a half. But when she hit two she started to really settle and mature into this amazing dog with the most amazing on and off switch. Now I do take some credit for that because I spend a lot of time teaching my dogs on and off but I will admit some dogs learn it much better than others.
This is a very stressful yet exciting time for me! I'll be glad when my little red dog is home next week and bred!
Keep watching here for more updates!
